A PROGRAM OF LITTLE TOKYO SERVICE CENTER
A PROGRAM OF LITTLE TOKYO SERVICE CENTER
who we are
Changing Tides is a program of Little Tokyo Service Center located in Los Angeles, California. We seek to inspire greater mental health discussion within the Japanese American and broader Asian American community while tackling the associated stigma. We were raised by generations of strength and hard work. It is with these values that we dare to change the way mental health is viewed. We are starting the conversation, educating the community, and changing the tides. Let’s create a new, open-minded generation.
CT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
This unique 10 week internship for high school and college students provides hands-on experience with mental health advocacy and awareness-building through Changing Tides (CT), a program of Little Tokyo Service Center.
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer - 3 simple steps anyone can learn to save a life. Learn how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, how to ask about suicidal ideation, persuade them to seek help, and refer them to the appropriate mental health resources.
We are excited to launch CT Stream: a therapy stipend program offering 6-10 free therapy sessions for California AAPI youth and young adults. The goal of this program is to provide an accessible, transparent, and inclusive opportunity to obtain mental health services. Click below to learn more about CT Stream!
