Changing Tides 2019: Transformation
The second annual Changing Tides event, Transformation, took place on May 19, 2019 at the seaside estate of Carolyn Elliott. The event was created to increase awareness of mental health in the Japanese American and Asian American communities, and to help raise money for Little Tokyo Service Center's established mental health programs. Over 150 adults and youth from the Asian American communities, including attendance from several prominent figures, attended the inaugural event. The night featured personal stories from Alan Hino and Moet Kurakata, speeches from Dr. Koko Nishi, a musical performance by international jazz pianist and composer David Benoit, and catering by Katsuya. To all those who attended and participated in this year’s event - thank you for continuing to help us change the tides!
